Your feelings and reaction are genuine, appreciated and understandable. No one would blame you if your final takeaway was one of regret, but I hope and suspect that time (and, perhaps, future opportunity) will alter that.

And, while it never was much, you can count on me to throw a couple bucks in the hat if you decide to return for Endeavour's successful launch.

Since we're being honest here, I always had an ulterior motive of sorts for giving you my old Flip camera. It was one of the cameras I had with me back in November 2009 at *my* first NASA Tweetup -- which also happened to be at KSC for a Shuttle launch (STS-129). I felt it somehow right and fitting that, since I could not ever get back to the press site for a launch, my old camera would have the opportunity to do so, with you.

In the event you cannot attend launch, maybe you can find a fellow tweep to shoot for you (and, yeah, vicariously for me too) from the vantage point you'd have had on launch day.

Naturally, I'd much rather see you (and everyone else who made the pilgrimage for STS-134 NASA Tweetup) make it back for Endeavour's lift-off in person!

I think that you expressed your feelings about all of this very eloquently. You had a chance, and you took it. And you never know what will ultimately come of all of it. Who knows. Maybe your "Hail Mary" will work.
